December Events at the Astoria Art Loft

December is a lively month at the Astoria Art Loft.
Tuesday afternoons feature an on-going Art Experiences for children, Wednesday afternoons are devoted to Watercolor, and Saturday mornings are for private and semi-private art lessons for young people.
On December 10, the Second Saturday Art Walk features the vibrant paintings of Susan Bish. Come visit with Susan, view her artwork, and enjoy refreshments from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Learn to create glass mosaics with Kai Raden on Wednesdays, December 7 and December 14, from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m.  Kai supplies everything.  The first class is devoted to cutting the glass, developing and creating the mosaic.  The second class allows for more work time and for grouting the artwork.  Fee for the mosaic class is $75.  Register by calling the Art Loft at 503.325.4442 or e-mail at astoriaartloft@gmail.com.

Create a ukelele embellished with glass mosaics on 2 Saturdays:  December 10 and December 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Kai will supply everything including the ukulele.   Different  mosaic skills will be learned in this class.  Fee is $150.  Register by calling the Art Loft at 503.325.4442 or e-mail at astoriaartloft@gmail.com.

Find your ideal holiday gifts at the Art Loft.  Original oils, acrylics, watercolors, collages and mixed media, zentangle, jewelry, cards, and more are
waiting just for you.  The Art Loft resident artists have created a wealth of
affordable and beautiful art.  The art is available Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. or other times by appointment.
The Art Stall

The Art Stall has 6 spots for Artists of all levels to come paint in Acrylic, Watercolor or Draw a Still Life set up each month.  There will be instruction as is needed.
The theme of the Set-up will change every month.  This month is a Christmas theme.  The December sessions are on Thursdays the 8th, 15th, 22nd and the 29th.  The time is 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  The Artist’s Commitment is for all four weeks.  The first week will focus on Composition and Layout.  The second week – Adding Medium.  The third week – Details and Shading.  The fourth week – Pulling it all together.  The fee is $45.00 for ALL FOUR sessions per person.  The Artists must be able to use the Artists Bench Provided.  ALL Supplies Provided. 
Please come by The Art Stall, in the Pier 11 Building on the Water, to Reserve your place.  January dates are Thursdays the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.  Space is limited, so, first come, first registered.  Refreshments at 6:45 Intermission.
